Job Summary:
Reporting directly to the Senior Client Accounting Manager, the Client Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the preparation, review, and delivery of financial statements for a portfolio of client entities, including trusts and companies, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and adherence to reporting deadlines. The role plays a key part in managing client relationships, providing technical accounting guidance, and delivering high-quality financial reporting and ad hoc management information.
The successful candidate will lead and develop a team of qualified and part-qualified accountants, overseeing workload allocation, performance management, and professional development. Additionally, the Client Accounting Manager will contribute to the enhancement of accounting processes, operational efficiencies, and best practices, while ensuring exceptional service delivery to clients and stakeholders.
Job Accountabilities:
> Oversee the preparation, review and quality control of financial statements and other accounting deliverables, ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
> Ensure adherence to internal policies and procedures, as well as relevant laws, regulations, guidelines and industry best practices.
> Manage, prioritise and allocate workloads across the team to ensure internal service standards and client deadlines are consistently achieved.
> Conduct performance reviews and annual appraisals, providing constructive feedback and supporting the professional development of team members.
> Oversee the bookkeeping function, providing technical guidance and ensuring accurate and timely completion of all bookkeeping activities.
> Act as a key point of contact for clients, intermediaries and professional advisers, addressing accounting-related matters ranging from routine queries to complex technical issues.
> Participate in client and prospective client meetings, supporting relationship management and business development initiatives where required.
> Coach, mentor and supervise team members, fostering a collaborative, high-performing and client-focused culture while promoting continuous learning and development.
Minimum Education and Experience
> Attainment of a relevant professional qualification, eg ACA, ACCA
> A minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience.
> Relevant accounting experience gained in a similar role and/or experience within a client accounting environment would be considered an asset
