Job Summary
The Senior Manager – Fund and Corporate is responsible for the implementation, growth and day-to-day operation of the firm’s new AIFM and Collective Investment Scheme (CIS) Operator activities within the London business.
The role carries senior management responsibility for our Small UK AIFM and Operator service lines, including accountability for regulatory outcomes, operational resilience, and governance effectiveness as a first-line senior management owner under the FCA’s principles-based supervisory approach.
The role is inclusive of ownership of the operational, governance and service delivery framework across the range of client types, structures and asset classes capable of being serviced within these regulatory authorisations. Core strategies include UK, Channel Islands and international fund and corporate structures across real estate, private equity, private credit, and other alternative asset classes.
This is also client facing role that will act as senior client and intermediary relationship lead and will be responsible for the oversight of all client engagements, service delivery under client mandates and support with the financial performance of these service lines.
This role will work alongside the existing corporate and funds teams across the Group as well as working closely with senior management and compliance teams to ensure the business operates in compliance with its authorisations while supporting scalable growth.
This is a new role and candidates should be entrepreneurial and look to own and grow these new service lines with a vision to build a team to support the business’ budgets, targets and growth ambitions.
Fund Oversight
> Oversight of portfolio management and risk management (including review of delegation arrangements).
> Responsibility for valuation policy governance and challenge of third‑party valuers.
> Oversight of liquidity management frameworks, where applicable.
> Responsibility for ensuring UK AIFMD Annex IV reporting accuracy and timeliness.
> Oversight of COLL / FUND rule compliance for operator-led structures.
> Oversight of conflicts of interest identification, management and disclosure within operator-led structures.
Implementation & Growth
> Design of scalable Small AIFM / Operator platform economics, including fee models and cost attribution.
> Development of proposition tiers (e.g. start-up, emerging manager, established).
> Input into pricing strategy for white-label / hosted fund structures.
> Ownership of onboarding frameworks for first-time managers.
> Monitor market, regulatory and competitive developments impacting UK regulated fund structures and platform propositions.
> Keep abreast of product and service developments that may enhance and add value to existing and potential client relationships.
Business Development
> Actively pursue business development through the design and execution of a deliverable sales strategy, including direct engagement with intermediaries, stakeholders, existing and prospective clients.
> Develop a robust pipeline of new business opportunities, including the conversion of pipeline into won new business.
> Have a general awareness of financial and economic developments globally.
> Act as a senior subject‑matter expert for UK-based asset managers, sponsors and promoters.
> Support manager selection and due diligence for hosted / operator-led structures.
> Represent Praxis in regulatory, industry and manager‑facing forums.
> Contribute to thought leadership on UK fund structuring and governance.
Regulatory, Risk & Compliance Oversight
> Ownership of the operational risk framework for UK regulated activities.
> Responsibility for identifying, assessing and mitigating AIFM / Operator regulatory risks.
> Active engagement with FCA supervisory interactions and thematic reviews.
> Oversight of regulatory change impacting AIFMs, CIS Operators and UK funds.
Operational Resilience & Outsourcing
> Oversight of critical outsourced providers, including depositaries, administrators and portfolio managers.
> Responsibility for operational resilience mapping, impact tolerances and testing relevant to regulated fund activities.
> Oversight of exit and substitution planning for key providers.
> Work in close partnership with Compliance and Risk functions while retaining first-line accountability for regulated activities.
Financial Management
> Achieve financial performance targets aligned to platform profitability and sustainable growth rather than individual chargeable utilisation alone.
> Balance the client’s needs with the Group’s commercial expectations both in developing strategies for clients and in the day-to-day management of their affairs.
> Work to achieve the Group’s financial benchmarks.
> Regularly review work in progress, deficits, aged debtors and bad debt write offs on client portfolio.
Corporate Governance & Leadership
> Build and lead a UK AIFM / Operator team as the proposition scales.
> Embed a strong culture of accountability, challenge and regulatory awareness.
> Develop succession planning and capability depth within the regulated functions.
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
Essential or Strongly Preferred:
> Hands-on experience with Small UK AIFM and/or UK ACD / Operator models (>5 years).
> Experience engaging with the FCA on authorisations, supervisory or variation of permission matters.
> Strong understanding of delegation, oversight and substance requirements.
> Experience supporting first-time or emerging fund managers.
> A demonstrated ability to build, grow and maintain strong long-term client relationships.
