Our private wealth and corporate services teams work with our clients and their advisers, delivering an efficient, informed and personal service. We operate a fast-paced and rewarding environment with opportunities to service a variety of international clients across all asset classes.
Job Accountabilities
> Preparation financial statements for trusts, companies, and corporate structures under the applicable reporting standards – for instance FRS 102 and IFRS.
> Preparation of monthly and quarterly management accounts.
> Preparation of UK VAT Returns
> To prepare ad-hoc reporting to include, but not limited to, loan interest schedules, investor summaries and cash flow analysis.
> To liaise with auditors in a timely manner.
> To respond to points raised by accounts reviewers.
> Assist the team audited accounts.
Skills and Knowledge
Key areas are as follows (note that the Client Accountant is expected to demonstrate these skills or, in the minority, show potential to acquire them):
> The right candidate will be a nearly or newly fully qualified professional accountant (ACCA or equivalent) with a minimum of 3 years of experience in the Trust industry.
> Experience of Private Wealth and Corporate client structures.
> Ability to produce accounts for a range of trading and investment companies or trusts.
> Basic knowledge of VAT, UK taxation of companies and trusts and Jersey taxation of companies.
> Basic knowledge of Jersey trust law / practice.
> Thorough understanding of double entry bookkeeping.
> Thorough understanding of the firm’s bookkeeping procedures manual and the ability to guide and assist others regarding implementation thereof.
> Sufficient competence in the analysis, posting and reconciliation of third-party valuations and statements.
> Ability to reconcile ledgers with VAT returns and statements received from tax authorities.
> Good working knowledge of spreadsheet applications.
Personal Development
> Attend seminars and workshops, read industry publications and advisory briefs and follow developments in wealth management to enhance professional and technical knowledge.
> Shape own development by identifying areas to improve own knowledge and skills and actively seek assistance.
> Develop techniques for coping with time/deadline pressures.
> Maintain evidence of continuing professional development.
