Job Summary:

Reporting to the Head of Business Solutions, this proactive and technically skilled Senior Manager-level Solutions Architect will drive the design, development, and governance of the Group’s data platforms and enterprise level analytics ecosystem.  This senior role will lead the architecture of our cloud-based data solutions, ensuring that the business can effectively leverage data, automate processes and optimise business operations, as a fundamental element of the Group’s digital transformation strategy.

The postholder will work across the full Microsoft technology stack, developing solutions to enable data ingestion, end-to-end solution design and effective governance and process frameworks for delivery.  They will ensure that solutions are secure and scalable, aligned with our business goals and regulatory expectations.

As part of the wider Programme Management Office, this role will work closely with senior stakeholders across our Global locations, shaping the roadmap for technology enablement and ensuring adoption of best practices.  This is both a strategic and hands-on role, requiring exceptional technical knowledge, strong collaboration with internal stakeholders, effective project execution, and a proactive approach to problem-solving to ensure high-quality outcomes.

Job Accountabilities:

• Lead the design, architecture, and continued evolution of the Group’s core data platforms, establishing architectural standards, frameworks, and principles aligned to the wider digital transformation roadmap

• Collaborate with InfoSec, IT, and Compliance to ensure that data platform solutions comply with Group policies and regulatory requirements

• Act as the senior technical advisor for data solutions, overseeing delivery and deployment ensuring compliance with security, audit and regulatory obligations.

• Work with business users to identify and document requirements, translating them into technical specifications and solution architectures, maintaining project documentation, ensuring clear communication and progress tracking.

• Identify and champion opportunities to remove manual effort and legacy systems, designing solutions across the Microsoft toolset, that enable automation, optimisation and advanced data analytics.

• Lead or contribute to the design of solutions which leverage AI and automation-driven functionality.

• Promote best practices and contribute to training resources, training sessions and documentation to support user adoption and upskilling of the end user.

• Lead architectural engagement work with third parties and delivery partners, as required.

• Stay current with the Microsoft roadmap, identifying opportunities to enhance business capabilities.

• Such other duties as may be assigned.

Minimum Education and Experience:

• Minimum of 7 - 10 years’ relevant experience in solution development, system engineering, technology-driven projects, and/or business process improvement.

• Demonstrable experience building and deploying modern data platform architectures (Microsoft Fabric, Azure or equivalent).

• A strong understanding of the Microsoft ecosystem, including Power Platform, Power BI and M365, integration capabilities and limitations.

• Attainment of relevant Microsoft certifications/professional qualifications.

• Experience of running and delivering successful projects, preferably in a multi-disciplinary environment.

• Familiarity with data modelling, permissions management and governance within Microsoft environments.

Preferable but not essential

• Experience of working in a regulated, financial services environment or contributing to regulatory or compliance-driven projects

• Demonstrated ability to manage projects and maintain technical documentation to support delivery timelines.

• Proven communication skills to enable interaction with individuals at all levels, along with the ability to produce clear and concise documentation.

• Proficiency in digital platforms to optimise project workflows, reporting, and stakeholder engagement.

• Ability to work independently, meet tight deadlines, and manage competing priorities effectively.

• Willingness to work collaboratively within a team and support shared objectives.

• Openness to learning new technologies and adapting to evolving business requirements.
