Job summary:
As a Corporate and Fund Accountant, you will be responsible for the preparation and review of financial statements and management accounts for a diverse portfolio of corporate entities and investment funds. You will act as the primary liaison with external auditors, oversee the work of junior accounting staff, and ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards including FRS 102 and IFRS.
Job accountabilities:
- Prepare financial statements for corporate entities and investment funds in accordance with applicable accounting standards (FRS 102 and IFRS).
- Produce monthly and quarterly management accounts for a portfolio of clients, including fund structures and corporate vehicles.
- Review accounting work prepared by junior colleagues, ensuring accuracy and adherence to internal controls and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate and support audit processes, acting as the main point of contact for external auditors and assisting in the preparation of audited financial statements.
- Ensure timely and accurate reconciliation of investment valuations, bank statements, and other third-party reports.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure bookkeeping records are complete and ready for financial reporting.
Minimum education and experience
- Fully qualified professional accountant (ACCA / ACA or equivalent) with a minimum of 3 years of experience.
Required skills
- Proven ability to prepare complex financial statements for corporate entities and investment funds.
- Strong understanding of fund structures, corporate entities, and related accounting principles.
- Working knowledge of VAT, UK and Jersey taxation for companies and trusts.
- Proficient in double-entry bookkeeping and ledger reconciliation.
- Experience in posting and reconciling third-party valuations, including investment portfolios and fund NAVs.
- Ability to reconcile ledgers with VAT returns and tax authority statements.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise work, liaise with senior bookkeepers, and manage deadlines effectively.
